Burglary suspect arrested

Shawnee County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Topeka man after being called to a report of a burglary just after midnight in North Topeka.

Deputies took Michael Alvarado into custodyafter getting a 911 call from a homeowner in the 38-hundred block of North Kansas Avenue.

The homeowner called authorities from a locked room inside the house telling dispatchers that several windows were broken and someone was possibly inside the home.

Deputies arrived, went into the house and arrested Alvarado. He was booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on three charges including aggravated burglary and attempted theft.
