Prison art on display at Statehouse

More than fifty pieces of artwork by Kansas prison inmates is on display at the Statehouse.

The works went on display today and will be exhibited for a week on the second floor of the Statehouse rotunda.

It’s the second show of inmate art at the statehouse in the past year and a half.

A spokesman for the State Corrections Department says the first exhibition drew many positive comments on the quality of the works and the importance of allowing inmates to express themselves creatively.
