Washburn Tech students gear up for repair marathon

Washburn Tech students are once again turning damaged cars into Recycled Rides.

The program which is in its third year, kicks off its marathon repair weekend on Friday.

The school was selected to participate in a national vehicle donation program called “Recycled Rides.”

On Friday, Washburn Tech Auto Collision program And Automotive Service Technician students will be making repairs to two vehicles to be given away in May.

The program is a community awareness project where students repair then donate vehicles to families in need.

The school is the first in the nation to be a training facility for the program.
