Shawnee County Parks and Recreation officials will look to a long-range strategic master plan to determine whether to build a new pool in southwest Topeka.
The county’s parks and recreation advisory board held its regular meeting Wednesday night in Topeka City Council chambers.
The board discussed the master plan and Crestview Pool.
Parks and Rec Director John Knight says the plan could help determine if and where a new pool is needed.
Shawnee County Commissioners voted last week to approve the closing of the pool.
They based their decision on a report detailing the repairs needed at the 55 year old facility…and the fact it’s in a flood plain.
