State raises 41 tons of food for Project Topeka


Governor Sam Brownback recognized 41 state agencies that participated in the Project Topeka Community Food Drive.

Brownback and Kansas Secretary of Corrections Ray Roberts thanked state workers for their participation at a reception at Cedar Crest Wednesday afternoon.

Nearly 5000 employees donated more than $41,000 and seven tons of food.

The cash donations convert to more than 34 tons, making a total of more than 41 tons of food.
