Bug exhibit opens at Topeka Zoo

A new exhibit featuring bugs has opened at the Topeka Zoo.

Some unusual insects are part of The Schendel Bug Zoo.  It opened Thursday morning inside the animals and man building.

The exhibit features a wide variety of bugs from different habitats around the world.

The zoo’s director says it’s a great way to connect elementary science to the zoo.

Bugs aren’t the only thing on display. For those daring enough, there’s also a Creepy, Crawly Café, where the brave could try out an insect snack.

The cafe’ gives visitors a chance to learn more about insects and how many bugs provide a good source of protein.
