The Kansas Children’s Service League (KCSL) will host the third annual Kickstands for Kids motorcycle ride on April 20, 2013. The event will begin at 11 a.m. at Heartland Park, 7530 SW Topeka Blvd.
The motorcycle ride will begin at 1:00 p.m. and lunch will follow the ride. Riders will leave Heartland Park and ride through Overbrook, Scranton, Burlingame, and end back at Heartland Park around 4:00 p.m.
Cost is $25 per rider (pre-registration), $30 the day of the event and $5 for an additional rider. Pre-register at http://www.kcsl.org. Lunch is included with each paid registration, but additional lunch tickets are available for $5.
Proceeds will benefit KCSL’s Center for Restorative Education, which provides educational, social and behavioral supports to at-risk youth. The Center’s goal is to help youth develop life skills for self-sufficiency as well as a sense of civic responsibility and teamwork. Youth are given the opportunity to recover academically as well as enhance their own personal development.
KCSL says the event will help the organization carry out its mission to protect and promote the well-being of children. “KCSL provides a variety of programs and services for children and families in Shawnee County including the Center for Restorative Education,” says Gail Cozadd, North Central Region Director. “Funds from Kickstands for Kids will help us to continue to provide services to at-risk youth and set them up for a better transition into adulthood.”
