Topekans took to the streets to encourage healthy living.

Hundreds of employees of Blue Cross and Blue Chield of Kansas hit the sidewalks of downtown Topeka Wednesday.

The event is designed to encourage people to take the first steps toward better health.

Today was National Walk at Lunch Day – a nation-wide program which reminds people to take time during their break and incorporate walking into their daily routine.

Employees walked from 12th and southwest Topeka to the judicial center for a rally where the first 300 people got a free t-shirt.
