Public Service Recognition Week will be celebrated nationally from May 5 through May 11. To recognize Topeka’s public servants, Topeka Metro is offering free rides all week on the fixed routes for federal, state, city and county government employees.

Government employees who are certified for the Lift service can receive up to two free trips per day. Passengers will be required to show their government employee ID when boarding the bus.

“The city of Topeka is a mecca for government at every level. Topeka Metro wants to show our appreciation for dedicated public servants serving Topeka and all of Kansas,” said Susan Duffy, Topeka Metro General Manager. “This is great opportunity for us to say ‘thank you’ to the men and women in public service, many of whom are already loyal Metro riders, if you have never ridden the Metro to work, this a wonderful opportunity to get on board.”

All Topeka Metro fixed route buses are A.D.A. accessible.
