UPDATE:

25th is now open to traffic and one southbound lane on Wanamaker remains closed while repair work is completed.

An incident involving a trash truck has caused some residents in southwest Shawnee county to lose cable and phone service.

Just after 8am, a Waste Management trash truck was headed west on SW 25th near Wanamaker when a raised bucket on the truck clipped a cable line and traffic signal at the intersection of 25th and SW Wanamaker.  Topeka Police were on the scene Wednesday morning directing traffic while repairs were being made.

It’s not known how long it will take until cable service is restored.
