Students win in Second District Congressional Art Competition

Two area high school students have placed first and third in the Second District Congressional Art Competition.

Kansas Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins met with Topeka West junior Jared Scrinopskie for his first place photo called “dreaming.”

He wins a free trip to Washington, DC for a reception honoring the winners from all of the congressional districts across the country.

Topeka West High senior Patrick Lacy was recognized by Jenkins for winning third place.

His photo entry was a mosaic made up of more than 200 pictures.

There were more than 50 entries in the contest from throughout the second congressional district.
