HHHS hosts pet disaster prep talk

The  Helping Hands Humane Society is hosting a free Pet disaster preparedness talk today from 6:30pm to 8:00pm inside its Education Center at 21st and Belle in Topeka. It kicks off the Paws for a Cause Seminar Series at HHHS.

Speakers include people who have survived disasters like the 2007 tornado that struck Greensburg, KS. Guests will also hear from leaders who are active in disaster preparedness and recovery. This includes Midge Grindstead from the Humane Society of the United States and Michael McNulty from Kansas Department of Health and Environment. Guests will learn about disasters in Kansas, how they and their pets should be prepared, and what they can do to be involved with response efforts.
