More than a thousand Kansans are expected to attend an outdoor rally in Topeka today.

It’s all to urge Governor Sam Brownback and Kansas legislators to permanently exclude long-term care services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities from the new Medicaid program Kancare.

The rally starts at 10:30 this morning on the Capitol lawn with a 60 foot-long banner that reads, “Dear Governor, carve out long-term I/DD services from Kancare” behind the rally.Participants are invited to sign the banner and share a personal message on it.

The rally is a part of a statewide advocacy campaign called “Dear Governor.”
