Kansas law enforcement will be working overtime later this month to enforce the state’s primary seat belt law.

The announcement for this year’s “Click It or Ticket” campaign was made Thursday morning at the Topeka Law Enforcement Center. It will run from May 20th to June 2nd.

During that time, law enforcement will pay extra attention to those violating the law and remind everyone to buckle up.

College student, Heather Tice talked about a crash that left her paralyzed. She wasn’t wearing a seat belt.

“Wrecks happen they happen every day. They happen all the time you’re young I get the invincible feeling, I get that you don’t believe that it can happen to you.” Tice says, “You need to realize that it can it does it happens every single day and the only way to ensure your safety is by making smart decisions and wearing your seat belt because if you don’t you might live to regret it.”

The “Click It or Ticket “campaign coincides with “National Seat Belt Enforcement Mobilization”, a nationwide campaign.
