Life doesn’t have to slow down when you take up residence at a nursing home.
Nearly eighty residents of the Plaza West nursing facility in Topeka spent part of their day, Wednesday, enjoying the outdoors at the Topeka Zoo.
It’s part of National Nursing Home Week across the country.
Other activities planned for Plaza West included a sock hop on Monday, and will wrap up with a talent show for its residents on Friday.
The American Health Care Association established National Nursing Home Week in 1967.
It is held in May and begins on Mother’s Day, the second Sunday of May, and runs through the following Saturday.
