Shawnee County Commissioners decided to post-pone any action involving improvements and renovations to central Topeka’s Holliday Park.
Commissioners told Parks and Rec staff to come back with a more accurate cost estimate than the $110,000 figure brought forth Monday morning.
The money would be used to extend the park at 12th and Western by about 30 feet and at the same time moving a traffic circle back into the park.
That circle had been in use to control traffic near the park…but was often struck by vehicles.
Commissioner Bob Archer said he wasn’t willing to support the request right now until the Parks and Rec Department finishes the master plan.
