Two Auburn students take top honors in math competition

Shawn Meng took 1st Place in the national Kangaroo competition in math

Two Auburn Elementary students took top honors in a global math competition.

Shawn Meng took first place in the nation and first in the State Of Kansas for 4th grade in the Math Kangaroo Competition.

Ava Chae placed 5th nationwide and first in Kansas for the 3rd grade math category.

Over 6 million students compete in the competition worldwide on the same day each year.

According to the organization, the contest encourages students to master mathematical knowledge, gives them confidence in their ability for comprehension, and help them understand how mathematics applies in nature’s laws and human activities.
