Four local retail business have announced they will be moving to the newly created and remodeled Kansas Furniture Mall by fall of this year. Discovery Furniture, RoomMakers, Mattress Headquarters and a new Marlings are all scheduled to relocate to what will be called the Kansas Furniture Mall. This location was formerly occupied by Macy’s department store at West Ridge Mall.
“The new Kansas Furniture Mall is in the prime retail area of Topeka and will give shoppers a much greater selection of furniture and mattresses, all at one convenient location,” said Jeff Winter, co-owner of the four businesses that will relocate to the Kansas Furniture Mall. “It’s a massive building, even larger than the new Menards that was recently opened and almost five times the size of one our current furniture store locations.”
The Kansas Furniture Mall is a new concept that blends together the area’s oldest and most trusted furniture stores to give customers a better shopping experience. Individual stores will provide shoppers with both personalized attention and product expertise from friendly, knowledgeable, and non-commissioned Home Specialists like a small store. Plus with all the individual stores being located together it will provide customers the convenience, huge selection, and guaranteed low prices that make larger stores appealing.
“We believe customers can experience the best of big and small, in one convenient shopping destination. This is a big step in reaching our vision of being the best at helping customers have more beautiful and comfortable homes,” said Winter.
“We couldn’t be happier to welcome these hometown retailers into the West Ridge family,” said Jessica Kinsey, director of marketing and business development at West Ridge Mall which is owned by Simon Property Group. “We can’t wait for our shoppers to experience both their huge selection and impeccable customer service.”
Kansas Furniture Mall will open its doors in September, and will mark the occasion with a gala and a grand opening event.
