WELLINGTON, Kan. (AP) — A 14-year-old boy from the Haysville area is believed to have drowned in Wellington Lake.
A search for the boy is scheduled to resume Tuesday morning.
Wellington Police Chief Tracy Heath says the teen was with friends at the lake Monday afternoon when he went under the water and did not come back up.
Winds that were gusting up to 37 mph might have contributed to the boy’s disappearance.
Crews searched for several hours but had to call off the search Monday evening.
