Authorities release names of two men killed in Manhattan crash

We’re learning more details a fatal crash in Riley County Tuesday afternoon.

It happened just before 4:00pm in the 4600 block of Tuttle Creek Boulevard in north east Manhattan.

Kansas Highway Patrol says 90-year-old Frederick Danenberg and 85-year-old Michael Myers were in a passenger car were leaving the state park in what is called the “tube entrance.”

Patrol says the vehicle was trying to cross US 24.

That’s when the vehicle crossed into the intersection when it was hit on the driver’s side by a semi coming over the hill, who didn’t see the vehicle.

Patrol says the two men were from Manhattan.

One lane one the southbound side of the highway is open as crews are still on scene.
