The Kansas National Guard is trying to study the potential environmental impact of a proposed aircraft.

It held a meting at the Museum of the Kansas National Guard to evaluate the possible assignment of the KC-4 Aircraft at Air National Guard installations.

The National Guard Bureau is proposing placing 12 of the planes at one of five locations including Forbes Field.

The plane is replacing the U.S. Air Force’s aging fleet of more than 400 KC-135 Strati tankers, the primary refueling aircraft for 50 years.
