Kansas prison leaders are sticking with their current security systems, despite 8 inmates escaping from the same prison over the last three years.

Lansing Correctional Facility has lost and captured four inmates since the 2nd week of May.

The latest, Paul Cohagen, was captured on Thursday after he walked away from the minimum security unit.

A department of corrections spokesman says the number of escapees is small compared to the rest of the population, and high-security inmates rarely get out.

The department is expected to continue its classes for inmates about what the consequences are of flying the coop.
