KanVet website launches for veterans

A new website to help veterans launched Monday.

Governor Sam Brownback and Kansas Adjutant General Lee Tafanelli unveiled the new KanVet website at a news conference.

The website is designed as a central comprehensive resource for services the state provides veterans.

It also connects vets with higher education information and job searching tools.

Tafanelli says the website solves three basic problems, finding employers for veterans with certain skill sets.

It also helps veterans that might need more training or certification or degree.

The third problem the website helps with is those returning from deployment and might have some sort of disability that they will need help dealing with before they can get a job.
