WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — Two Kansa driver’s license offices are now offering Monday hours for the next several weeks to handle the traditional deluge of young drivers seeking learner’s permits and licenses.
The Wichita Eagle reports (http://bit.ly/13KflZz) the Wichita office — the state’s busiest — and one in Mission started offering the expanded schedule last week. Last summer was the first time since the state went to a four-day work week in 1984 that Monday hours were offered in any of the license offices.
Monday hours are good news for smaller offices like the one in Andover, where many Wichita residents go to get their licenses renewed in an attempt to avoid long waits, because more customers can be served in Wichita.
The expanded schedule for both offices will continue through Aug. 26.
