State closes Capital City Amusement for not paying state sales and consumer compensating use taxes

The Kansas Department of Revenue is going after another business owner for not paying taxes.

Civil tax enforcement agents and Shawnee County Sheriff’s Deputies seized Capital City Amusement’s business assets.

Owner Ernest Jolly owes more than $178,000 in state sales and consumer compensating use taxes according to the department.

The vending machine business on Southwest Oakley was closed up, officers seized all of Jolly’s known bank accounts, on-site cash, business inventory and personal property.
