Topeka man dies due to injuries from accident

Max Collier, 87 years old, of Topeka, has died as a result of injuries sustained when the Ford F-150 he was driving struck the rear of an Isuzu construction vehicle on north 75 Hwy.  The Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the cause of the accident.


It happened at about 3:00 yesterday afternoon in the 5700 block of North U.S. 75.

Shawnee County deputies say a pick-up going south on U.S. 75 hit the back of a construction vehicle as it was working on the inside shoulder of the highway.

The driver of the truck, 87 year-old Max Collier was taken to the hospital in serious condition where he later died.

The driver and passenger of the construction vehicle were not injured.

The Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the crash.
