Five minutes before the Shrine Bowl Parade Topeka Police Officers evacuated Jackson St. due to a suspicious package.

Due to the suspicious package the parade was moved to Kansas Ave.  TPD says that after the Boston Marathon Bombings they wanted to be cautious.

The Kansas Highway Patrol brought in dogs to search the package.

Bomb Squad was on scene and they had the rover.

The suspicious package ended up being a brown bag filled with trash and neatly folded inside an apartment finder bin on the SE side of Jackson.

Shriner parade is now over.
