The Jayhawks open up year two of the Charlie Weis era. Kansas finished (1-11) a season ago and Weis said he isn’t making any excuses for why the team struggled.

“It’s almost comical,” Weis said when being judged by his comments from Big 12 Media Days. “Did they not watch our team last year? I mean give me a break. I always sit there and say what could I have done but whose record does that go on? The last time I checked it goes down on my name right? Kansas football and me. How else are you going to describe it? Do you want me to give it a more clearer way? It wasn’t very good. Okay. I could’ve said that but what I said is really how I talk to recruits.”

Kansas begins practice on Thursday and will hold 20 workouts before the season.
