Red Cross to reunite, honor life-saving Marysville lifeguards and Didde family

The Kansas Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross will present a Certificate of Extraordinary Personal Actions to Liz and Allison Manley on Tuesday, August 13 at 10:00 a.m. at the Topeka American Red Cross Office at 1221 SW 17th Street.

The Manley’s are credited for saving the life of 4-year-old Myles Didde earlier this summer at a Kansas City, MO swimming pool. The sisters are Red Cross certified lifeguards who work at the Marysville, KS pool.

Red Cross training teaches people how to perform CPR and use an AED, what to do if someone is choking, and how to prevent and respond to other emergencies until advanced medical help arrives. Course participants also learn how to control bleeding as well as how to care for seizures and other sudden illnesses.

Visit redcross.org/takeaclass or call 1-800 RED-CROSS for details and to register for a course.
