Meth labs discovered in Lyon Co.

In a joint narcotics investigation involving the Emporia Police Department and Lyon County Sheriff’s department, two search warrants were issued on August 13, 2013 for the residence of 1101 Union Street and 2223 Road H5.

During execution of the search warrant at 1101 Union Street, Officers and Deputies discovered what was thought to be remnants of a clandestine methamphetamine lab inside the residence. During the same time, Officers and Deputies executed the second search warrant at 2223 Road H5 and located several clandestine methamphetamine labs on that property.
The residents of 1101 Union Street were Wesley J. Gohring, 42, and Michelle Hernandez-Corea, 39, both were arrested. W. Gohring’s charges include Manufacturing a controlled substance, two counts Sale of Methamphetamine within 1000 feet of a school, unlawful use of a telecommunication facility, Possession of Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia. M. Hernandez-Corea faces two counts Sale of Methamphetamine within 1000 feet of a school, Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The resident of 2223 Road H5 was David D. Wasylk, 46 yoa. D. Wasylk faces several counts of Manufacturing a Controlled Substance.
During the search of the residences, information was gathered in regard to a vehicle and occupant that was connected with the clandestine Methamphetamine labs.

Detective Ohlemeier of the Emporia Police Department spotted the vehicle at a local business and made contact with the occupant. He was identified as John L. Groshong Jr, 43 yoa from Emporia. During her contact with J. Groshong Jr, he was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia.

The investigation continues and all charges will be filed through the Lyon County Attorney’s office.
