The Riley County Falcons look to build on the success of last season as they finished the regular season with five straight victories.

“It’s interesting to see those first few days, and the seniors realize they are seniors,” Riley County head coach Steve Wagner said. “You see that leadership develop and progress. We’ve got a great bunch of seniors, and I think they’ll do a great job competing for our district.”

After starting the season (0-4), the Falcons turned things around and reeled off five straight victories en route to a postseason berth.

“I think we’re looking good,” Riley County senior offensive guard Jacoby Roeser said. “Offense is crisp. Defense is going to be real good, we’ve had a lot of work on it this year, so I’m feeling pretty good about the team.”

Riley County begins the season at home against Clay Center.

“We’re looking a lot better than we probably expected,” Riley County senior fullback/linebacker Gavin Grater said. “We have a team that’s really coming together as a group. We’re a lot stronger than people expected us to be.”
