Royal Valley took the brunt of a challenging league and difficult district last season.

The Panthers finished (3-6) but this team isn’t making any excuses heading into 2013.

“We’ve got more kids who can play this year and more quality kids that we are going to get on the field and it’s just been an exciting summer and an exciting start to the season,” Royal Valley head coach Jason Grider said.

Oddly enough, every victory last year came on the road as the Panthers failed to win a game at home.

“We’re about hard work,” Royal Valley senior quarterback/cornerback Austin Hodison said. “We’ve had a lot of commitment this summer so I’m excited to see what’s going on. We have playmakers at every position and we’re more of a family this year.”

Despite missing out on the postseason the Panthers remain confident and plan to dictate their style of play on the field.

“We’re a tough physical team,” Royal Valley senior cornerback/tight end Chris Chapman said. “We’re going to beat everybody up as much as we can. That’s our way of playing.”
