The first half of this month was very wet and cool. Now, hot and dry weather has returned to Northeast Kansas and drought will likely redevelop.
August rainfall: 5.19″ (+1.62″ above normal)
Since June 1st: 10.12″ (-2.67″ below normal)
Since Jan. 1st: 24.45″ (1.45″ below normal)
We are tracking slim to no rain chances for the next 7 to 10 days. Above average temperatures are likely as well. Both of these will factor into the drought redeveloping across Eastern Kansas.
