Millions of Americans are expected to hit the highways for the upcoming Labor Day Holiday weekend.

According to AAA, just more than 34 million people will hit the road this weekend.  That’s up by just more than 4% from last year.

Travel consultants from the auto agency say many from the Midwest have travel plans that include Branson, Colorado and Yellowstone National Park.

Also, travelers will pay a little less for gas this time around, about 17 cents a gallon less than a year ago.

The average price for a gallon of gas in Kansas is $3.30.

The holiday travel period starts Thursday and runs through Labor Day Monday.
