HUTCHINSON, Kan. (AP) — A Reno County judge has granted an injunction that prevents a woman convicted of animal cruelty from owning more horses.

The Hutchinson News reports (http://bit.ly/17oN9cH ) the county sought the injunction against 61-year-old Lindasue Adams, who was sentenced earlier this month to a year’s probation after pleading no contest to two misdemeanor animal cruelty charges.

One charge stemmed from her arrest in April after Reno County Sheriff’s deputies found three dead horses in various stages of decomposition on property Adams leased. Ten other horses were in need of immediate care. Adams contended at her plea hearing she didn’t starve the horses.

Reno County District Judge Tim Chambers said Wednesday after he granted the injunction that Adams can petition to lift the ban after she completes her probation.
