Family Service & Guidance Center is pleased to announce that the 7th annual Works of Heart Art Event and Auction held on August 23 raised over $100,000 – the first time the event has raised a six-digit total.
“We know Topeka is a very generous community, but this exceeded our wildest expectations,” Brenda Mills, FSGC’s CEO said. “Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to all the artists who donated pieces; the creative, talented children we serve who contributed artwork; the 350 people who attended the event; and our sponsors without whom Works of Heart couldn’t happen.”
Artwork created by Family Service & Guidance Center clients was auctioned off in a live auction alongside pieces donated by artists from across the region. In addition, a silent auction of art pieces and other items took place during the event.
Money raised helps ensure that quality, affordable mental health care services are available to children and families in northeast Kansas.
Family Service & Guidance Center is a non-profit community mental health center that provides a full range of mental health care services to over 12,000 children, adolescents and families each year. FSGC has been improving children’s lives since 1904.
