Topeka man sentenced for possessing pipe bomb

A Topeka man faces up to a decade behind bars for possessing a pipe bomb.

U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom says 21 year old Kyle Roe pleaded guilty to one count of receiving and possessing a pipe bomb.  He admits that on November 13, 2012 Topeka Police Officers stopped a car he was a passenger in and was arrested on an active felony warrant.

He told police he had a bomb in his pocket.

The trial for co-defendant Joseph Rogers is set for November 13, 2013.

He is charged with making the bomb.  Sentencing for Roe is set for November 26, 2013.  He faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
