More people are likely worried about getting a sunburn than the flu these days but flu season will be here before you know it and doctors and nurses say it’s never too early to get a flu shot.

But there can be too many cars for a parking lot which was the inspiration 12 years ago for this drive thru flu shot clinic put on by the Cotton O-Neil Clinic at Stormont Vail Medical Center.

People lined up in their cars to get the shot starting at 9 yesterday morning at the first day of the drive-thru clinic.

No appointment is needed.

A registered nurse we talked to says it’s great for people who have trouble walking across hot parking lots to the doctors office.

The popular drive-thru clinic will be open September 10th through 12th and 17th through the 19th.

Any Cotton O’Neil patient, 19 years of age and older can participate in the drive-thru clinic.  All others should visit one of the walk-in flu shot clinics.
