Just two days after the 12th Anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks, artifacts from “Ground Zero” are in Northeast Kansas.

The Goldstar 11 Tour stopped on the grounds of the Kansas Expocentre last night.  The star 11 and UT6 are cement blocks removed from the Slurry Wall Foundation at “Ground Zero” under the World Trade Center and commissioned to be sculpted into finished forms of 9/11 Memorial Artwork.

Visitors could touch and take photographs with both artifacts.

The artifacts will be at the Dole Institute of Politics in Lawrence today starting at 3 p.m. with an unveiling and remarks by Lawrence City Officials at 6 p.m.
