A Topeka community theater will expand to two nearby towns.
At yesterday’s Shawnee County Commission meeting, commissioners approved the contract with Topeka Civic Theater and Academy to provide acting classes through Helen Hocker Theater in Rossville and Silver Lake.
The weekly classes must have at least 10 students ages 7 to 10 and will cost twenty dollars per student.
The acting classes have been more than a year in the making and Program Director with Shawnee County Park and Recreation says they’re a direct result of hiring TCT to run Helen Hocker.
