A Topeka man arrested in Omaha has been charged with robbing the Kaw Valley Bank in Topeka.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Cade Michael Sharples, 26, is charged with one count of bank robbery.
Prosecutors say Sharples robbed the Kaw Valley Bank at 3000 SE Croco Road last Tuesday around 2:45pm.
They say Sharples approached a teller… told her he had a weapon and demanded money.
They say he ordered her to hurry up saying, “stop messing around.”
Thanks to surveillance photos – several tips led investigators to Sharples.
If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000.
