(WESH) Dramatic video released Thursday by Florida Highway Patrol shows a crash during a high-speed chase that injured four people in Orange County, Florida.
A trooper’s cruiser narrowly missed a Toyota Prius as it careened off the road Wednesday morning.
Troopers said the driver of the Prius, fled a DUI stop and was going over 100 mph when he ran a red light and slammed into another car.
The suspect was thrown from the Prius and critically injured.
Troopers had to put out the burning wreckage in order to rescue an 18-year-old passenger trapped in the wreckage.
Two people in the second vehicle were also hurt. One person was thrown from the car and seriously injured, and a passenger inside his vehicle suffered minor injuries.
The driver that tried to elude police remains in the hospital but is facing a slew of felony charges including aggravated fleeing with serious bodily injury.
Court records show this is the third time he is accused of fleeing from law enforcement.
He’s on state and county probation.
Officials said he was driving on a suspended license.
