People in Manhattan may start paying more at the municipal court.

City commissioners will consider raising the cost by $10 a case.

Manhattan City Manager Ron Fehr says they money would go toward new software for the court.

He says the current technology is from the mid 90s and is in efficient and the new proposed software from Tyler Tech would save several steps in the entry process.

It would cost almost $84 thousand for the first year and $40 thousand each following year.

Fehr expects the 10 dollar fee to generate about $73 thousand a year.
