A Topeka Sonic is one of the best in the nation.
The Sonic drive-in crew from the 5922 southwest 21st Street location won the gold medal in the 20th Annual Dr. Pepper Sonic Games in San Diego.
The crew beat out thousands of other teams to be named one of the top three in the country.
Also in the competition was the Topeka Sonic at 2053 southwest Western – they made it into the top 12.
The games included carhop food delivery, fountain drink preparation, switchboard order taking, dresser, and grill and swamp… or food preparation.
They beat out crews from Louisiana, Idaho and Texas.
