An Emporia business is expanding because its products are literally flying off the shelves.
Business is good for disc golf enthusiasts, so good that owner of Dynamic Discs retail store Jeremy Rusco went and bought himself a warehouse.
“We were renting a semi-trailer, we were renting space across the street and we were just bursting at the seams so we had to get a new building.”
For Rusco disc golf started as a hobby, but now with buying this space he and his group of employees have changed the pace of the game.
Disc golf is one of the fastest growing sports in the united states and dynamic discs? It’s growing right along with it.
Rusco says, there’s never a dull moment.
” It’s been fast paced just last year we launched our line of discs that are produced over in Sweden and that has been really the most important aspect of growing our business.”
They’ve even started selling, disc golf clothes, shoes and bags.
With all this extra room, Rusco is thinking big.
“12 or more million discs a year are sold in the united states and we’re trying to have as big of share as we can in that and hope that you know we can ship out pallets and pallets of discs a day.”
Each container holds 30 to 50,0000 discs which can be customized or sent in bulk.
But at the end of the day all these guys, are in it for the love of the game and hope that soon everyone around the world will share that same passion.
“We’ve got a lot of people who are throwing them, and just look forward to seeing what 2014 has to bring.”
