Missing Kan. teen Sarah McLinn, 19, found safe in Florida.
Lawrence P.D. Detectives flew there this morning to ID her after authorities there found her and Hal Sasko’s 2008 Nissan Altima. McLinn lived in Lawrence with Sasko, 52.
He was found beaten to death last weekend when officers went to the home to check on McLinn. Her family reported her missing after she didn’t meet her sister earlier in the week.
“This afternoon Lawrence Police Department Detectives personally confirmed Ms. McLinn appears uninjured and the vehicle has been located. The investigation into Mr. Sasko’s death remains ongoing,” Sgt. Trent McKinley said in an email Sunday night.
Ashley McLinn told Kansas First News Sunday night in a phone call, “We’re grateful she was found and we want to thank everyone for prayers during this time.” McLinn would not comment on if her sister was found with someone in Florida, saying “she does not know a lot of information about how she was found.”
