City Council debate 21st Street project

It’s a project Topeka voters approved 10 years ago but City Council said Tuesday it could decide not to move ahead with it.

The project would widen 21st Street from Urish to Indian Hills Dr.

It was on the ballot in 2004 when voters said “yes.”

Now, the City is researching to see if this 5.7 million dollar project has to happen and if the money could be moved to another project instead.

Kansas First News Reporter Nicolette Schleisman tells us why the County says they will pick up the slack if the project is pushed aside.
