Four Topeka Veterans were buried with military honors Friday at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
Robert Lee Norris, Ramsey Phillips, James Allen Young and Clarke Paul Gould all died of natural causes.
These men were homeless and without family in their last days. So dozens of fellow veterans and members of the surrounding community were there in support of their service.
Shawnee County Coroner, Donald Pojman says he was pleased with the turnout.
“I was not expecting as many as people that did show up and it just shows the support we do have for the veterans.”
Two of the men were in the U.S. Army and the others were in the Navy. The four are being buried right next to each other in the cemetery.
