Brownback encourages people to prepare for winter storm

A major winter storm is predicted to affect the majority of the state beginning tonight and lasting through Tuesday night.

The storm will be followed by increasing winds and bitterly cold temperatures.

Governor Sam Brownback and state agencies including the Kansas Dept. of Transportation, Adjutant General and Emergency Management and the Highway Patrol are preparing to minimize the effect of the storm on Kansans.

The Governor and others will discuss preparations for Tuesday’s major winter storm and steps Kansans should take to be prepared and safe today at 4 p.m. at the Governor’s ceremonial office.
