Ambulance crews and hospitals are getting ready for the worst.
AMR, which provides ambulance service for Stormont Vail and St. Francis Hospitals – says it will take emergency crews longer to respond to calls due to the expected snowy road conditions.
For that reason – AMR’s operations manager says they plan to add two more ambulances on the roads.
Right now, the operations manager says they expect to increase their fleet on the road from seven to nine Tuesday.
St. Francis and Stormont Vail says it’s biggest challenge is making sure their employees will be able to make it to the hospital.
A spokesman for St. Francis says they have extra beds at the hospital – and employees are encouraged to spend the night, so they can be at work for their shifts.
